About Embrace Fitness

I'm Andrea Miller - but you can call me Andi. I am the owner/operator of Embrace Fitness.

I am a lifetime resident of the Niagara Region and I'm the proud mom to four awesome children, Benjamin, Jacob, Hannah and Isaac.

In 2001, a few (fortunately temporary) health issues made me realize that I needed to change how I was living. My eating habits were atrocious. I was completely sedentary and my self esteem was none too healthy either. I was too young to feel so old!

With just a vague idea of what I needed to do, I began to make small changes a little bit at a time. It was a struggle, sometimes an all out battle. I had no guidance and no real plan. I just kept doing small things. I improved my eating habits and lost weight. I joined a women's gym and began exercising regularly. Most importantly, I learned to love and value the person I am.

Who knew I was capable of so much?

Within three months, my health was back on track and the club manager asked ME to come and work for her! If I could make these changes, then I could help other make them too! She saw in me an ability to inspire others. That ability, along with my newfound passion for healthy living and a sincere love for people, set me on the course that has brought me to where I am today; the owner of Embrace Fitness

I provide education and demonstration of correct exercise technique, ensuring that my clients have a safe, healthy and enjoyable exercise experience. I communicate with my clients in a way that is genuine, honest and professional. I encourage my clients to pursue a happy and balanced lifestyle and offer support and encouragement to all exercisers.

Can-Fit-Pro Older Adult Specialist
As a Can-Fit-Pro Older Adult Specialist, I am familiar with the necessary precautions of older adult fitness. I provide practical advice for setting fitness goals with currently active and newly active older adults as well as practical modifications for exercise intensity and exercise techniques. I take a specialized approach to exercise and activity for the older adults and offer them fitness information, activity choices and individual program design.

Can-Fit-Pro Nutrition and Wellness Specialist
As a Can-Fit-Pro Nutrition and Wellness Specialist, I am able to provide my clients with Nutritional and Weight Management Counseling. I am skilled at developing stress management solutions and healthy lifestyle strategies. I endorse a holistic approach to well being and will offer referrals to nutrition and wellness professionals as appropriate.

YMCA Group Fitness Leader
As a YMCA Group Fitness Leader, I am able to design and lead a balanced fitness class that addresses all the basic components of fitness. The emphasis on each component varies according to the objective of my class. I am adept at leading a challenging class while providing exercise modifications to accommodate all fitness levels.

Resist-A-Ball C.O.R.E. Level 1
The Resist-A-Ball C.O.R.E. Level 1 certification gives me a solid understanding of the benefits of stability ball training. I am familiar with numerous strength and flexibility exercises, teaching techniques and cueing. Stability ball training is often a major component of the exercise programs I design for my clients.

Standard First Aid and CPR Level C
I maintain a current certification in CPR Level C and Standard First Aid.
